Two men and a woman have been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly practicing as doctors without any medical qualification. Two of the accused have studied only till Class XII, revealed a Mumbai Crime Branch official.
They had received a tip-off which was confirmed by a decoy. Raids were conducted at three clinics in Ghatkopar on Saturday and officials arrested Bharat Mhaske (46), Neelam Sitaram Pasi (38) and Suraj Ramjee Saroj (23).
The official stated that Mhaske and Saroj have studied till Class XII only but had worked as compounders under a doctor. While Pasi has stated that she is a second year medical student, the officials are confirming the same. The arrests have been made under the provisions of IPC and Maharashtra Medical Council Act.
